Work In Progress

This is the exciting project I have been working on. Project is a big one! Props and things for the school play. Nothing has been finished yet, but all work in progress.
The premise of the play is about waste, and how to rethink how we use things. This skeleton of a dinosaur is made out of cardboard and stuck with tape and will be painted when it is finished. The stand it is on was an old lamp base. I have to keep in mind what i am making will be light enough for kids to move and be made with easily accessible materials.
This is the seat part of a forest fairy chair/stool.

I have an idea for the fairy costume, that is going to be shown in the next few days as well as other costumes and props. I am very excited by it all. There will be animals and insects to name but a few, as well as a large dragons tail.

What I am Up To

A few of my readers may have noticed that my blog is a little boring at the moment. Apart from my charity knitting, crochet and sewing, have not shown much in the way of creativity. I have been busy but I cannot show what I am up to at the moment but it is fun and exciting.

More baby blankets on the way thanks to this wonderful lot from Savers in Greensborough. Using 6.5mm needles and garter stitch this knits up lovely and soft and light. This yarn is called Chenille Yarn from Craftworks.

Mothers Day

One of my kids offered to take me out today, Savers and Spotlight was the agenda, two of my favourite places to go so of course I said "Yes Please!" So we went to Savers first. Just look at this quilt kit, partially done that I got from Savers in Mill Park today, a gift from one of my kids. I have no excuses Not to make a quilt like, "How do i choose the colours?" (my favourite excuse!) It cost $40 well worth it. I won't be rushing into it though! I want to just look at all the fabric assortment first. Yummy. We did not make it to Spotlight after that, I just wanted to go home and look at it. I had a lovely call from my daughter today too. So Happy Mother's Day to you all. Hope you have a fun day.

This is the baby sets so far. Each set has a blanket, cardi, booties, hat and mittens and soft toy I have 5 baby blankets to make and a toy to stuff to complete these sets. The next progress shot will be the bears, rabbits and baby dolls with their quilts. I need to get more bags to put them in first.

A newborn hat.
A blanket, booties, hat and mitten set. 5 ply pure wool. I have 5 blankets to make to complete the baby sets. I have been packaging them up today and will take pictures of both the completed sets and the partial sets tomorrow. I need to get some more zip lock bags first.

What I am Up To

This is a bear I have made using a pattern designed to be used for charity called Honey from www.funkyfriendsfactory.com I have used my blanket material. Lovely and soft and cuddly. I have also used child safety eyes.
Currently I am working on some flower brooches, these are the knitted leaves that I am making and currently I am felting them. The felted leaves are on the left.
