School Play Props and Things

50 corns all finished. Now i will be appliqueing some skull and crossbones to T.Shirts. and making a bow tie.

Wings

The stocking and coat hanger wire wings are now finished. They have hot glued plastic flowers and leaves and gold reflective sequins and sparkly stones both on the front and back and ribbon streamers. All it needs now is the clear elastic arm bands which I will add when ready to wear.

Rose Brooches

These are the finished rose brooches i have been making. I had a phone call from a friend who wanted 3, this way she has a choice to choose from.

This is the gargoyle finished.

Knee Blankets

This is another knee blanket finished.

Tiki Cushion

This is the Tiki Cushion finished.
Side Views. I have stuffed it with the same wadding i used to make the textured fabric. firm but soft.
It is 65cm tall and 91cm around.

Coconut Tree

This is the tree finished. I have decided to just add the green balloons as they are because to tell the truth, i was scared of blowing them up, and the kitties might not leave them alone! I have added a fabric gecko to the tree for added interest. The trunk is painted with house paint. The leaves were spray painted.
The tree is comprising of two parts, the trunk and the leaves.
Looking forward to sewing this afternoon, I will be making a Tiki Pillow for the classroom to keep.

Pink Flamingoes

I have finished making the 3 flamingoes for the classroom for the kids to finish off, I am looking forward to seeing how they do them.
They just need the dowels for legs.

Cushion

This is Tilli and Meggies Christmas present, a large floor cushion.
Tilli loves it already.

Capes

The 8 teachers capes are all finished. Two of each colour with their house letters on the back. I chose a font from the computer called Yearbook and enlarged it by 800%. Two in blue.
Two in green.
Two in red.
And two in yellow. They are in two kinds of fabric, the black background is from a wool coat, ironed onto a heavy iron on interfacing, then the top colour was done in felt and sewn onto the black, then the black was sewn onto the cape. except the blue was done in cotton drill because that is what i had. The neck draw string is an artificial leather which i unraveled from a braided belt from Savers.

Honey Bears and a Swap

3 bears finished, Originally i started out with 5 but two went home to a lovely neighbor, unfinished who wanted to finish them herself .
Showing off their hearts. These felt heart have been vliesofix over the turning slit and then decoratively sewn around. The ribbons have been sewn on and their nosed have been glued and sewn and the eyes are safety eyes.
This is where the Swap came in. My neighbor, stopped off to me before she went to Greensborough Savers to see if i wanted any of the bits she was going to donate. This is the yummy stuff i chose. I did not want to take them for nothing so i offered her a couple of bears out of the fabric she gave me but she wanted the ones i had started and she wanted them unfinished to give them her own look. She is then going to donate them to the K.Mart Wishing Tree herself! How good is that!

Pincushion Chair

Felt covered tape measure. to be used either as a cushion for the chair or a foot stool.
The crochet cover on the back of the char doubles as a surprise needle holder.
Finished chair. All ready for the Christmas swap at our Christmas Party. Not worried that some of our members might see it because it will be wrapped up.
Off to Sydney for a couple of days, to visit my daughter and see their new house for the first time and to visit Hill End too.

K.Mart Wishing Tree

I have just finished the last bag and filled it up. Each of the bags have a headband, a nail polish, eye shadow palette, an emery board and 2 lipsticks.

Pin Dolls

Back of the pin doll before the hair and face was done.
Pin doll finished.
The dress was made on the doll after i did the first couple of rows in a large loop that went on the neck of the doll. Each round until the waist was single crochet, then i used a single row of trebles, the next row was 2 trebles in each treble, this doubled the fabric being made. The row after that was again, 2 trebles in the top of each treble I was then happy with the amount of fullness and the last row was single treble in the top of each treble to end.

Cup Cake Stand

The cup cake stand is finished, now to finish up making the cup cakes. Just need assembling and decorating.

Wheat Bags

This is the basic Wheat bags i will be doing in the next couple of days, embellishing them for each person and adding a piece of velcro to the bottom as a closure. I will be adding heating instructions as a print out too for each one. I have used contrasting threads for the tutorial, I will however use matching threads for the finished items.

Trucks Continued

This is the last truck, I made this one lined with black felt. I added cardboard to the sides to stiffen it and the running stitch is the insides of the truck scoop.
