Pillow Case

Today I have made a pillow case for the first time. French seams so no raw edges, using this tutorial.
https://www.seasonedhomemaker.com/pillowcase-tutorial-burrito-style/
I have a game I play, every time I do something or go somewhere for the first time even travel down a street for the first time I make a wish. It is not only a fun idea, but it makes for a great memory keeper. Pinch Punch first day of the month is another game I play.
I will be adding pillowcases with all the quilts from now on.

Dog Bed.

Tonight and over the weekend I will be pet sitting for 2 dogs and 2 cats, Lovely!
One of the dogs is a visitor so I had to make a bed in a hurry, Tilli is very fond of it and stayed sitting on it the whole time I was making it.
Not bad for a half hour in a hurry make.

Making Cards.

This morning it has been all about making cards. Gathering up all the materials I have bought over the last couple of weeks I have made 50 cards complete and prepared the makings for 100 more. This should do me for a while.

Making Cards.

 Hand made card.
I am down to my last 4 blank cards because of the last lot of postings, I have been looking in the op shops but none available as yet so I am going to make my own. Beautiful textured card stock from K Mart $12 for a pack of 40 pages, these lovely mini Australian calendars for 50c each from my local newsagent. Each piece of card stock makes 2 cards so the total cost of each card is about 17c each. Great value!

Spotlight Shopping.

I went to Spotlight to look for more masculine fabric if they were on special. They have in my Spotlight store  (South Morang) a selection of fabrics reduced from $6 a metre and $10 a metre with an extra 30% off at the checkout.
One of the fabrics was reduced to $2 a which made it at $1.40 a metre, I bought the lot, 10 metres of it. Perfect for the laundry bag linings. The rest I bought 2 metres each at $4.20 a metre. Great value.
To give it perspective, Each laundry bag uses 2 metres of fabric with enough left over to make 1 quilt block.

ACDA Christmas In July Raffle Prize.

This is my donation to the Christmas in July meeting for ACDA. Worth over $100.

Making Goodie Packs.

No sewing this afternoon, I have been busy making the goodie bags to go with each laundry bag.
Each pack contains a card with a letter of thanks, Temporary tattoos of the Australian flag, popcorn, pen and emery board, lollies and a Tim Tam and a Cake in a cup mix.
Having made a box up I discovered it was going to be over 2 kilos so I am packing them into boxes of 3.
Also in the box is a large crossword book and the 3 cups and plastic forks in the side and inside each laundry bag is an Australian Eucalyptus air freshener. A full box that weighs just a little less than 2 kilos.
A good afternoons work that will make the boxing up a breeze.

Cord And Sewing.

A Big thank you to the two ladies at my ACDA club for this wonderful lot of cording. Black, cream and white.
Adding them to my yellow and red makes for more variations to the laundry bags.
I have sewn a whole heap of laundry bag cord tops ready to assemble the laundry bags. Now that the weather is much cooler, my sewing machines run really well, much better than they do in the heat I can get a lot of sewing done.

Laundry Bags, Laundry Bags, Laundry Bags.

Today is all about prep work for the laundry bags I am making for the next two weeks.
All the bags have different tops.
Put into piles and groups of 4 ready to sew. This afternoon I will be making all the cord tops. I have not done such a great lot in ages, I forgot how much I love assembly line making.
