Coconut Tree and Tilli

Not easy cutting out with a cat that likes to lay down on the cardboard!
The tree is quite tall, it will have 9 cardboard round discs with 8 cut out pieces. The main trunk will consist of 8 pieces also that will slot into the discs. I will then cover the whole thing in paper ready to be painted. Currently it is taped to the edge of the door. When i have cut out all the pieces and assembled it it will be able to stand independently.
This is the base. The bottom of the tree is bulbous.I will also add a cardboard insert on the bottom for stability.

Charity Makes for 2011

Whilst i am waiting for more cardboard, i went back to the dolls i was making before i went on holiday. To make my life easier, i like to make face templates. Using ordinary paper I fold it in half and draw an eye, nose and mouth. I then cut them out, test it against the doll and when i am happy i contact it. The razor is for the dolls face, Nice and soft as the fabric is, i have found it to be too fuzzy to draw on.
This is a lovely photo of my Great Niece, Just wonderful don't you think?

Pink Flamingoes

I thought you might like to see how it is getting together, minus legs.
Just need to smooth off the edges, Now i have to wait for more cardboard.

New Baby

I Almost forgot to tell you of the Most Wonderful News.
My Niece had a baby girl on the 7th January. I am now a Great Aunty. Both mother and baby are doing well and Dad is Just As Happy. They are such a wonderful family.

Pink Flamingoes

Started a new project today, Large Pink Flamingos in 3 dimensional cardboard. I will be making 3 of them, going from left to right, we have 2 main body pieces, 2 inner body pieces minus beak, 3 inner but i think i might do 5 body pieces without neck and face and 2 wing pieces. They will be taped together leaving spaces with cardboard and double sided tape to help give it the 3D look. The legs will be dowels. They will be just slightly smaller than life sized for Renees classroom as they will be learning about Hawaii. The class will be decorating them to finish them off. This is the body for one, i will be doing this 2 more times. It is great to get back into creating again! My son Mark is providing me with the cardboard from work instead of the boxed getting crushed.
Hardest part of it for me is the posting of pictures, my camera screen is broken so i have to just shoot and hope i get a good picture, at least it still works!
