I will be making these too! Just delightful and morish!
What sewing will you be doing?

I have decided to make a Tic Tac Toe Game with my Door Prize challenge using most of the things in my pack. The game will be on the lid of the game and the pieces held in the box.
The bottom of the box is the same shape as the top but a fraction smaller.
these will be the pieces, Not decided yet how i will make the shapes out of the fabric, but they will have the oranges and the lemons on top for the two players. I will be making 5 of each.
these fabrics will be used to make the lid and the grid.
The bright orange fabric will be the outer lower box fabric and the soft shade will be the inner lining of both the top and the bottom of the box.
As promised, here are some pictures from Jonno and Renees friends Saturday Night House Warming Party. The theme i found out was called Extreme Japanese. Take a look at the Puffer Fish!! This girl did good! She did have a week though! They had Sumo wrestling too! Good fun was had by all, and these are but a few of the dress ups.

At 9pm last night my son Jonno and his girlfriend Renee, came round and asked me if i could help them with some dress ups for a housewarming party for today. I am always up for a challenge, so at Midday today, Renee came with all her fabrics for some Sushi Prawns.
I could not go past this!, Being a little cat crazy i just loved this giveaway. Raccolto d'Autunno Fall Harvest is having a giveaway to celebrate her new shop on etsy, "my home studio" with this giveaway.

Please Welcome, Mr and Mrs Costelloe.
Sew-Fantastic is having a great giveaway.
Look at what i got in the post! this delightful Snowman, along with this very cute butterfly and plastic cup cake, filled with jelly beans (now eaten!) All the way from NY from D.Cannon.
I bought these red shoes to finish off the Red Queen outfit, Not bad for $10. The funny thing is i am not a shoe person and most of the time i am in bare feet, so to wear these in the challenge is funny in itself.
This is what i will be making next. A baby blanket for my sister who was coming to the wedding but now cannot of the wonderful news that she is pregnant. It is a free pattern from Lion Brand. They have hundreds of free knitting and crochet patterns and this one is very aptly named Tree of Life. The pattern i was going to do originally was in correctly printed and the pattern is not the same as in the book. I like this one better. Click on the picture to be taken to the lion brand page and see for yourself the lovely patterns they have there.
For the Mad Hatters Party on Saturday i have decided to go as the Red Queen. First i made a heart template out of cardboard then i cut out heaps and heaps of red hearts to sew on a dress.
This is a long Indian cotton dress, that i have not worn before, it is a silver grey colour, not really what i wanted but will be perfect for this challenge. All the hearts have been pinned on, now all i have to do is applique them onto the dress.I have arranged the hearts in a pleasing pattern down the front and all around the hem of the dress. I will be adding them to the ends of the sleeves too.
This is my crown. It took me just ten minutes to make. Two different sized packs of playing cardsjust the heart numbers used, and bias binding and staples.
To do the Dodos eyes i chose to use buttons. So i tipped all my buttons out and started sorting. I decided to glue two different buttons together to make his eyes.
The Dodo is now finished. I hope you like him. He will not be staying with me, he is a gift for my nephew who is going back to Mauritius on Tuesday, and before that, enter the A.C.D.A. Challenge. on Saturday. On Friday my mum arrives from England for a holiday and for my daughters wedding. Happy Days!
This is Meggy yesterday. enjoying the outside as part of their morning garden play. She is a good girl, not a climber by nature and loves to play chasing butterflies and eating the grass.
The beak is done, Originally i wanted to do it in red vinyl but not enough of that, so now i have used a red velvet type fabric.
Wool coat i am using to do the body in. Bought from Savers in Greensborough when they had the half price sales, A long green blue in wool for $10. Lovely and soft with a short pile.
wrapped, pinned, cut.
Seams folded in and pinned ready to sew on.
All the rest of the coat is being cut into feathers. These will be sewn and further trimmed and added on the body for embellishments to help enhance the look and to help you see it as a bird.
