Tic Tac Toe
Door Prize Challenge
I have decided to make a Tic Tac Toe Game with my Door Prize challenge using most of the things in my pack. The game will be on the lid of the game and the pieces held in the box.
The bottom of the box is the same shape as the top but a fraction smaller.
these will be the pieces, Not decided yet how i will make the shapes out of the fabric, but they will have the oranges and the lemons on top for the two players. I will be making 5 of each.
these fabrics will be used to make the lid and the grid.
The bright orange fabric will be the outer lower box fabric and the soft shade will be the inner lining of both the top and the bottom of the box.

Dress Ups
At 9pm last night my son Jonno and his girlfriend Renee, came round and asked me if i could help them with some dress ups for a housewarming party for today. I am always up for a challenge, so at Midday today, Renee came with all her fabrics for some Sushi Prawns.
I used freezer paper to draw up a pattern, used her ribbon for stripes, sewed them up and Renee stuffed them with my fiberfill. Next came the waistband that has velcro strips on the ends, and Renee made her head band. Last but not least, Jonno has some chop sticks in his hair. We stopped off and Jonno came home with lunch of grilled fish and chips, and we stopped for a break at 2pm. Half an hour later we were back at it, and finished at around 4.30pm. I have just finished cleaning up and now it is 6.30pm. Time for dinner, Jonno and Renee went to go and get ready for their housewarming party. A Great Day!

Door Prize
Look at the goodies i had won from our cloth doll club A.C.D.A. Each month we have the option of putting in a bag something doll related in the colour theme of that month. All those that put in get their names added to a pot and at the end of the day, one name is pulled out. This month it was Autumnal colours, and i won! Now all i have to do is make something for Show and Tell from some of the bits from the bag. I will enjoy having ideas thrown at me! Please send me your suggestions!

Meg and Tilli
Tilli and Meg are my Cat of the Day.
At the moment my Mum and her husband Mike are here in Australia from England and loving it. One of the activities that we did that they don't have in England is Show Houses, This is a great fun thing to do and costs nothing.
Also a fun thing to do if you are thinking of doing some decorating, to see how the trends are going and to give you ideas on your own home.
If you click on Meg and Tilli, their picture will take you to a collage of our day out. Enjoy!
Right now they are driving up to Bathurst NSW from Mill Park Vic, taking their time and taking in the sights. Tonight they are stopping at The Pelican in Lakes Entrance.
They have their Tomtom navigator and enjoying their holiday of a life time.

Married
Please Welcome, Mr and Mrs Costelloe.
(Click on the photo for more pictures).
Yesterday could not have been more perfect, It was warm and sunny with a hint of a breeze, not a cloud in the sky. We were told this would happen, but you cannot believe it until you experience it, It went so very very quickly. At the ceremony, my mum, myself, Steph's dad, Michael's mum and Michael's dad all had a part in reading a paragraph each for the Hopes for the Marriage. I could not have been more proud. Nicky, Maid of Honour and Steph's best friend did a reading first, George Elliot, from Adam Bede, and it was beautiful. The Photographer was very busy doing his thing in getting the official pictures done.
They had a Tree Watering Ceremony, They have bought a pink flowering gum tree which they have in a pot for now, this will be planted in their own garden when they buy their first house.
the words that went with it was,
"Today we water this plant to symbolize that marriage-like a tree-requires constant nurturing and nourishment. May it grow tall and strong."
This was a really lovely message.
Wellers did us proud, the tables were set exactly as we liked, The food was delicious, The music was done by my son Jonno and his girlfriend Renee and was just right, The first dance, Stephs dance with her dad, bought tears to my eyes, and the cake was something really special and personal. My friend Lillian did us really proud. All in all it was a perfect day.
Thank you to all of you who sent best wishes, I really apprieciated them and i have passed the messages on.

Wedding Day
Today is the day our Daughter is getting Married! This has been a very busy hectic but most wonderful week of last minute preparations. All the guests are here in Victoria, some of Michaels family have not seen each other for 20 years, and some to meet for the first time. My Mum and Mike have settled in and are very excited. I am going to get my hair done, flowers are to be dropped off at Wellers for table decorations, and then to where my daughter is staying to help her get ready. Fingers crossed the weather holds, I promise pictures at the end of the day.
Thank you all for the best wishes, kind thoughts and sharing my journey with me.
You all have a lovely day,

Won and Shoes
Look at what i got in the post! this delightful Snowman, along with this very cute butterfly and plastic cup cake, filled with jelly beans (now eaten!) All the way from NY from D.Cannon.
I think he is simply delightful. I would like to write a thank you but i cannot find your blog so if you are reading this, let me know thanks!
I bought these red shoes to finish off the Red Queen outfit, Not bad for $10. The funny thing is i am not a shoe person and most of the time i am in bare feet, so to wear these in the challenge is funny in itself.

Baby Blanket
This is what i will be making next. A baby blanket for my sister who was coming to the wedding but now cannot of the wonderful news that she is pregnant. It is a free pattern from Lion Brand. They have hundreds of free knitting and crochet patterns and this one is very aptly named Tree of Life. The pattern i was going to do originally was in correctly printed and the pattern is not the same as in the book. I like this one better. Click on the picture to be taken to the lion brand page and see for yourself the lovely patterns they have there.
Bloggers
I have realised that there are a lot of crafters out there who probably read each others blog and congregate to things like The Stitches and Craft Show and not know each other.
I do know i will be going there this year in Melbourne and just on the off chance that i may bump into one of you i will be wearing my blog name I Purr-Furr to Craft on me like a badge or a brooch. Now all i have to do is make one. Anyone with me?

Red Queen Dress Up
For the Mad Hatters Party on Saturday i have decided to go as the Red Queen. First i made a heart template out of cardboard then i cut out heaps and heaps of red hearts to sew on a dress.
This is a long Indian cotton dress, that i have not worn before, it is a silver grey colour, not really what i wanted but will be perfect for this challenge. All the hearts have been pinned on, now all i have to do is applique them onto the dress.I have arranged the hearts in a pleasing pattern down the front and all around the hem of the dress. I will be adding them to the ends of the sleeves too.
This is my crown. It took me just ten minutes to make. Two different sized packs of playing cardsjust the heart numbers used, and bias binding and staples.
First i measured my head using the bias binding. Then i took the cards and mixed them up, stapled them on randomly in a fan shape to get the curve to fan outwards. I them stapeled the tops together to stablize them. It fits perfectly. I will be wearing my hair up inside the crown for this day.

Cat of the Day
This is Meggy yesterday. enjoying the outside as part of their morning garden play. She is a good girl, not a climber by nature and loves to play chasing butterflies and eating the grass.
Tilli on the other hand IS a climber, She had me in a panic, she got on the roof. She did come down on her own and i am happy to say she did stay within the boundary but she did worry me.

Dodo Continued
The beak is done, Originally i wanted to do it in red vinyl but not enough of that, so now i have used a red velvet type fabric.
Wool coat i am using to do the body in. Bought from Savers in Greensborough when they had the half price sales, A long green blue in wool for $10. Lovely and soft with a short pile.
wrapped, pinned, cut.
Seams folded in and pinned ready to sew on.
All the rest of the coat is being cut into feathers. These will be sewn and further trimmed and added on the body for embellishments to help enhance the look and to help you see it as a bird.

Olympic Mascots
I have just received this lovely e-mail from Renee.
Hi Sue,
This morning I walked into school to be bombarded by two students who spent the weekend making THEIR own Vancouver mascots due to your inspiration from the new additions to my classroom.
The two girls allowed me to photograph them and said you can post them
on your blog if you want.
So here they are.
Flying Geese.
How wonderful is this! Thank you girls! Great stuff!
