Left Over Fabric.

Just over a year and a half ago I made this costume for my son.
 This is the finished product.
Originally we were going to have the front covered with patches done individually but realised early on that it would take too long and be very heavy, since he was going to be going in and out of water, up and down obstacles we altered it. I did however save all the bits I had cut out and today, I had a reason to use them.
They are the perfect size for the snips I have bought to hand out for gifts at the A.C.D.A. Christmas party so took me no time at all to assemble.
One snip on the right side of the pocket and they are ready to go. I had just the right amount of pieces too! All set for Saturday.

Savers Mill Park Closing.

Tilli and Meggie in the front garden.
Today I went around my favourite stores and handed out Christmas prezzies.
Some sad news today, Savers in Mill Park will be closing down on the 27th December. Some but not all of the staff will have jobs. My thoughts to the universe that they get jobs soon.

Chichen Pincushions.

This is what I have been making for the last couple of days.  I am using scraps of fabric and left over blocks chopped up into squares, 2 squares for each chicken. The squares can be any size, I have chosen to make these in 5 inch  blocks. They have been filled with the walnut litter, they will have fiberfill added to where I need to sew the closing seam and their button eyes added.
I needed to make a few more Christmas gifts and I am waiting on some fabric to make an Aussie quilt and do not want to have a big project so that I can get into making the quilt as fast as I can when it arrives.
This is the link to the pattern tutorial I have used as inspiration.
