Trip To Preston.

This is the reason I went to Preston in the first place. I buy the two pack of cards for $2 and split them up and make my card holders for the gift packs. They are changing, I like the 100% plastic cards as they are the most durable but they have changed them to the wipeable paper ones that are not so durable and have to look further afield to find them.
Making labels and making card holders.
They look very similar, the plastic one is the blue pack.
The thickness is different. The paper pack has the gold band running around it. I did a test and the paper cards can be ripped and creased.

Spotlight Gift Card Thank You.

Yesterday I went to Spotlight in Preston. This is what I bought. These fabrics were on special for $4.99 a metre, normally $19.99 a metre, I bought 2 metres of each, and this Legacy fuse under, normally $8.99 for $2 each. I used my Spotlight $50 voucher that I was recently gifted towards it. Thank you so much.

Aussie Hero Treats.

These are the Tim Tams I usually buy to put in the Aussie Hero packages. Normally in Woolworths they are $4 something, and $4 on special. Today I bought them in The Reject Shop for $2.
This is $40 worth, The lovely lady gave me her staff discount when I told her who they were for and this gave me 3 extra packets. Thank you for your support.

Playing Cards.

See the little hand made purse in the lower corner? Originally I had made them for Thank you gifts for the ladies at Spotlight, but at the last minute I thought of taking them to club and selling them to get some things for the gift packs for Aussie Heroes, Well I sold them all. The cards in the picture I have bought this morning will be split up and put into their gift packages, So thanks guys. You are all heroes in my book.
This is what I will be doing this afternoon, making fabric pouches to hold the cards in. I will be starting again with the purses for my Christmas gifts for the lovely ladies in Spotlight.

Yesterday I had a lovely phone call from a friend, She was going to Savers in Greensborough, would I like to come? A day out was a very welcome break and I had not seen her in ages so Yes! I was very lucky indeed and found these bargains. This lovely rocking horse, it has a sound in it too. It neighs and a lovely clip clop sound too by touching the ears. It's mouth and tail moves as well. Perfect for a birthday on Saturday.
This lovely huge roll of cotton fabric with gold accents.
A pair of cotton horsey curtains, perfect for when a horse quilt request comes up.
 Lovely details.
Total spend on the day, $30. Great value. Thank you for a lovely day out.

Gift Shopping.

This is my ritual, After posting parcels I always go to Spotlight in South Morang. Sometimes I have a plan on what I need to buy, but not always. I went to Spotlight today, Not planning on buying anything when I saw these bargains. Looked at the dates for the candy canes, 2017,  Perfect! I will be using these for the ACDA Christmas party and for the Aussie Hero packages. Total cost, $7.
When I got home I opened them up and this is what i found. 24 wrapped pieces of candy cane in each pack.
These decorations I will have to be creative with these.
 Photo albums and rotary blades.
The next stop was in Vinnies South Morang store, 2016 pens, 6 for $1. I bought the lot, total amount of pens 52. Now I have a goal to meet, 52 parcels for Aussie Heroes.  My job for this afternoon is to test each pen and glad wrap them up individually.
Cards and postcards are always on my list for making up gift packs for Aussie Heroes. I have bought this lot too. Blank cards and postcards with Australian images and famous masters. Total spend for the day, $30.

This is a Janome DC2050 computerised sewing machine.
Aldi has the same machine branded as Stirling DC2050. The model is exactly the same, even the booklet instructions. If you are in need of a good machine, this is great value this week at Aldi.

Fabric Help.

I am posting this on my blog in the hope that someone knows where to find this fabric.
This is on behalf of a good friend Melody for a friend of hers at NOYQ
 Here's what she says

What I am hoping to find is a retailer who has a cream background fabric with Cherry blossom randomly on it but not covering the fabric entirely.

She included two images to explain what she wants

Last Shopping At Savers Mill Park.

It is very sad that Savers in Mill Park is closing, I went there today after posting my latest quilt as per usual only to find it half empty. Everything left is half price so if you want to go there you have until the 27th to do so. I did find this doona cover that I will turn into bias binding for a lot of quilts next year. I will be cutting it so that the red white and blue will be in stripes. This quilting book that is all about applique and 12 inch paper pieced blocks, just the perfect size for my quilts. and lastly the photo paper to turn into post cards for part of the Aussie Hero care packages.
This arrived in the post today, It was advertised on Facebook and I signed up for them. 5 free cards with envelopes that I will use for Aussie Heroes care packages. (I have used one card and envelope already today).

Tilli and Meggie in the front garden.
Today I went around my favourite stores and handed out Christmas prezzies.
Some sad news today, Savers in Mill Park will be closing down on the 27th December. Some but not all of the staff will have jobs. My thoughts to the universe that they get jobs soon.

Sewing Room Complete.

Bought this from the Brotherhood of St Laurence in Greensbsorough this morning. Was $20, marked down to $5 adjustable swivel chair, Freedom brand.
Nothing wrong with it at all, just a little dusty. A quick wipe over and it is done. Now I can have a maximum of 3 people sewing in my sewing room at a time. How cool is that!
