Aussie Hero Quilt Continued.

Today I have pinned and quilted it and tomorrow I will trim and add the binding and label.

Quilt Progress.

This is how I put the blocks together. I stitched them down in pairs.

 Then I added the last row.

 Keeping them joined, I stitched the rows together.

 Tilli says, "Enough mum!, Give me some attention". so I did!

 All the blocks are sewn, now I am adding the sashings, corner stones and guitars row by row. I am so happy with my table that I can keep them set out as I sew, no problems with getting the blocks out of order.

Aussie Hero Quilt Started.

I took the morning off to come up with a design and this is what I decided to do. Keeping the design simple. This is another Aussie Hero Quilt request. The request was  "8 year old boy, likes army soldiers and guitars". The guitars are hand drawn using fabric pens after I have made the blocks. The boy's name will be added as well with appliqued letters in red to tie the colours together. The backing I have not on decided yet.

 Aussie Hero quilt finished and will be posted on Wednesday.

This is the back, The background is white, but the lighting in my house is not great so it shows up darker than in real life, but you get the idea. The description on the quilt request is Old Cars, so this is perfect.

Fabric.

 Look at this lovely fabric, All cotton and all $4 a metre from Spotlight today. I bought this lot to use in the Aussie Hero Quilts and laundry bag charity using the Spotlight Mother's Day voucher and money I got from all the crafting, toy and doll making books I took to A.C.D.A yesterday.

Also at the cloth doll club I was given these pastel lovely super soft polar fleece fabric to use in my charity makes too. Just lovely. Thank you so very very much.

Aussie Hero Quilt in Progress.

 Remember when I bought this fabric from Savers in February? I made 2 laundry bags from one piece and kept the larger one for the backing for a quilt. Well the right project has come along. The quilt request is for vintage cars, Absolutely perfect.

 I simply could not go past these in Savers yesterday.

This is what I have done so far today, quilt in progress.

Aussie Hero Quilt Finished.

This is the front and back of the quilt I finished yesterday. The blocks were made and sent to me to make into a quilt, the orange and blue binding and backing from my stash. The backing was from Savers, enough fabric for 2 quilts.
