Spotlight Bargains.
Today I went to Spotlight to buy the hessian backing for my daughters wall hanging and came back with this, As it is not going to be on show it did not matter that it had a print on it. It was reduced to $4 per metre instead of $12.99, so I bought enough to make shopping bags with for the Christmas in July prize as well. I also bought the netting to make the fresh produce bags in the reduced section. Normally $13 per metre this parcel was 2 metres at $2 per metre. Perfect!
New Project. Gift For My Daughter.
This is going to be a huge project. My daughter has a wall that is double height. She wants a wall hanging that is 90cms by 190cms. Trees with birds, cats and flowers. I am going to quilt it onto a hessian backing.
close up of a couple of branches. It will be finished by Christmas.

Makes.
This is the stuffing for the pincushions. I compressed the air out so it takes up less space,
cut the card on the bottom so that it fits, the card had the instructions and the photo, the envelope holds all the contents.
The stuffing in a separate bag and it all fits inside a sandwich bag.

Fabrics chosen are batiks that were donated and the lovely fabrics I won from Jodie Carleton. Lots of cutting out today.

Next Aussie Hero Quilt Started.
This quilt request is for Adventure Time. A cartoon. Favourite characters are Jake the Dog and Lady Rainicorn. Middle block is Easy On transfer for light coloured textiles. The blocks are fabric paints and acrylic paints with textile medium. I will be sewing them on in black as outlines then adding more outline with a black textile pen. Quilt as you go 14 inch blocks with plain blocks in the colours of the cartoon. 48 hours and the paints will be ready to heat set with an iron then ready to sew. While that is curing I will be making the plain blocks.

Following on from my message to Aussie Hero Quilters and supporters about the discontinued World Map fabric panels in Spotlight and that it was on special the Lovely Jo from Mildura sent me 7 panels of the World Maps at the price of $4.80 each from her shopping in Spotlight. Thank you so much Jo. Aussie Hero Supporters are the BEST!
Something a bit different, I am watching and waiting for this to finish growing and flowering in my garden at the moment. It is HUGE!
