This is the place I was at this afternoon/evening for the wonderful presentation and guest speaker Jan-Maree all the way from Sydney the founder and brilliant organizer of Aussie Heroes Quilts and laundry bags. A wonderful and thoroughly engaging speaker whose passion shone through, I do believe she has now got more people to follow and make for her after this. It was just wonderful to meet her in person.

also on the right hand side of my blog you can get to it too.
Thank you to Libster for the lovely ride home.
It was lovely catching up with you last night, Sue and to see some of your quilts in person. The photos just don't do them justice. What an interesting night it was with Jan-Maree telling us about how aussie hero quilts started and what the quilts and laundry bags mean to the troops.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you got to meet Jan-Maree in person Sue.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like the inspiration of listening to someone who is on the frontline, leading and walking the talk. :) I'm sure it gave those who came the impetus to keep doing the important work that all are doing.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad for you that you met Jan-Maree. She certainly is a great inspiration; she was one of the motivators who started me quilting. Sadly I wasn't able to attend the lunch with her on Saturday, so I will have to post the calico I had put aside for her. At least she didn't have to cart it home on the plane with her!
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous you were able to come. I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself.
