Honey Bears and a Swap

3 bears finished, Originally i started out with 5 but two went home to a lovely neighbor, unfinished who wanted to finish them herself .
Showing off their hearts. These felt heart have been vliesofix over the turning slit and then decoratively sewn around. The ribbons have been sewn on and their nosed have been glued and sewn and the eyes are safety eyes.
This is where the Swap came in. My neighbor, stopped off to me before she went to Greensborough Savers to see if i wanted any of the bits she was going to donate. This is the yummy stuff i chose. I did not want to take them for nothing so i offered her a couple of bears out of the fabric she gave me but she wanted the ones i had started and she wanted them unfinished to give them her own look. She is then going to donate them to the K.Mart Wishing Tree herself! How good is that!

Sewing

Dolphin is finished,
Tilli is telling me not to start on the giraffe!
Quick idea for stopping yarn from rolling all over, use a large open top container, make a hole in the top with a punch This container is made of plastic and was for a body building product. it had one of those plastic wrap around labels. You can also do the same thing with the large metal coffee containers, if you do use those, make the hole larger and place bias binding to the hole to stop it from being rough.

On the way up to Hill End we saw this! How cute is it!
Wild Goats at Bald Hill overlooking the township of Hill End.
My Son in Law on his brand new ride on mower. Their land is 4and a half acres. overlooking such fantastic views.
Another view, this is from their back veranda and the land slopes down slightly and ends at the trees.
I had such a fabulous time and it is lovely to see that they are settling in wonderfully, already it feels like their home. They have been there for 3 months now.

New Bags

At last! the last bit of my K.Mart Christmas Wishing Tree gift package has arrived, emery boards. Now i know just the size i need to make my gift/makeup bags. First one done, 23 to go! The bags will be green on the outside and lined with the red.

Make Up Bag Re-Makes

This is the fabric and zips i will be using today to re do the K.Mart Wishing Tree make up bags. The ones i made before were too small! but not to worry, i will be putting them aside for next year.
Tilli!!! Not easy sewing with cats, especially when they want to help.

Pincushion Chair

At our last meeting of the year next month at our cloth doll club ACDA we are having a pin cushion swap. I have decided to make a chair, the cushions being the pincushion part. I have used felt for padding.
all parts cut out and covered. The upper seat has been windowed out to allow pins to be pushed in and the seat instead of fiberfilled is having foam cut to size.
The chair is assembled and bias binding is about to be added all around the edges. I will be crocheting a doily to go over the back which will hold a surprise, a needle book.
This is the book i got the inspiration from.
I have also made 10 of these for boys toys for the K Mart Wishing Tree this year.

Pin Dolls

Back of the pin doll before the hair and face was done.
Pin doll finished.
The dress was made on the doll after i did the first couple of rows in a large loop that went on the neck of the doll. Each round until the waist was single crochet, then i used a single row of trebles, the next row was 2 trebles in each treble, this doubled the fabric being made. The row after that was again, 2 trebles in the top of each treble I was then happy with the amount of fullness and the last row was single treble in the top of each treble to end.

Pin Dolls

I had been to Savers in Greensborough the other day and bought these lovely tapestry and embroidery yarns and was wondering what i was going to do with them, and i thought of Pin Doll Brooches. I cut out the pin doll pattern onto freezer paper and ironed them onto flesh coloured fabric.
I then sewed them all around leaving an opening for the arms and snipped on the back of the head and body to turn them right sides out. I use turning tubes to turn them right sides out. What this means is to insert a larger tube in the fabric with the smaller tube on the outside and push them to make it go right through.
Turned right sides out and stuffed. The are 10 cm tall.
Then i decided to use a variegated thread to crochet with and started to make a dress on the doll as i went. More pictures tomorrow with the recipe of how the dress was done. Light in the house is not good for photos right now.

Finished

The cakes are finished and have started a mock up of my next project.
Cushions and back for some chairs for my son and his girlfriend. Not the fabric that will be used eventually and not padded. Using cardboard i traced the shaped of the chair seat and back and sewed then cut them out. I added ribbon to the fabric for ties.

The final chair covers will be padded, the frame will be spray painted to match the final cushion covers.
