Trucks Continued
This is the last truck, I made this one lined with black felt. I added cardboard to the sides to stiffen it and the running stitch is the insides of the truck scoop.
This is from the front.
All 3 are now finished.

Knitting Kits
I bought these in Spotlight, they are reduced from $13 to $9 and i bought a Kangaroo, a Koala and a Wombat. Looking forward to making them for my nephews, so all in all, they will have knitted jumpers, knitted and crochet blankets, an original toy car, and a sewn cloth book and a knitted Australian animal toy. I am so ready to be a Grandma!

Craft and Quilt Fair
Yesterday i had a lovely surprise,
My Hubby took me to the Craft and Quilt Fair at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre Southbank
I Loved it! Saw a couple of friends there and saw some wonderful displays, It was wonderfully set out, could have spent thousands if i had the money, but this is what i bought.
I bought 2 book panels, both Australian flavour that i will sew for my two 3 year old nephews.
This back issue of Homespun, for the delightful dragon pattern, Jodies Coat and Cape pattern for the Kinder dolls, and this quilters foot, that should make sewing 1/4 inch circles easier.
You still have time to go if you want, it finishes on the 25th, Guaranteed that you will have a good time. The quilt display was simply breathtaking, They also had a display of some of the costumes made for the Textile Art Festival in Brisbane this year, simply stunning!

Trucks Continued
These are the fabrics i will be using.
Shiny silver for the windows appliqued on, black for the wheels made separately, red for the lights appliqued on and green for trucks.
While i was looking for fabrics i came across this delightful green fabric, I am thinking Monster Pillows here, for the two 3 year olds. More on that later.

Baby Trucks
Goodie! I have my camera back!
Inspired by Jodie Carleton of Ric-Rac Designs freebie http://vintagericrac.blogspot.com/2009/03/bee-bah-bee-bah-emergency-tutorial.html I am going to make a couple of boy toy trucks for my nephews in England when i go next month to the U.K. to see them for the first time. the first picture shows the materials used to make the patterns for the two toys. I went to Zart Art and replenished my cardboard requirements, which is the way i like to make my shapes.
having drafted them up using graph paper, the easiest way to do shapes not being a math person i transferred the design onto cardboard. Many of the shapes are going to double up on the transport to make things easier and to make them look like they belong as a group. Added to these two will be a car and a bike, but more on that later. They need to have seam allowances added i will do that on the fabric befor i cut it out. The windows and the grill are the same sizes and i will appliques them onto the fabric first whilst it is still flat. The wheels will be made separately. This one is the truck.
This one is the Tipper truck.
taped up to show the shape.

Moving House
My daughter who works in Bathurst moved house over the weekend, and my youngest also moved house on the same day, quite a coincidence! He has moved into Greensborough, just a couple of suburbs away with his girlfriend Renee. He had a very action packed Saturday. 1. Move house. 2. Go to a friends engagement party. 3. Play in his band in the finals competition. and on top of all of that HIS BAND WON!! congratulations to the boys in Venomartre.
Today, It is quiet in the house and i am going to make some toys, don't know what i am going to make yet, I just need to make something.
Have a lovely day.
