Quilt Continued.

Quilting Ideas, On the white blocks I turned the pieces upside down after I had quilted the outlines and used the back to fill in the spaces for the white areas. On the all over prints I quilted from the right side tracing around the outlines and filled the gaps with loops.
Ready for the sashings and binding. I will be using one of the fabrics I bought yesterday.

Spotlight Shopping.

Today I went Spotlight bargain shopping. My sister gave me a Spotlight e-card voucher for Christmas and I want it to go a long way. These fabrics are Christmas fabrics with gold running through them, I will use them in the sashings and bindings for a bit of pop as they don't read as Christmas and they were 75% off.
I also bought these poppy fabrics in the reduced section also reduced further with another 40% off. A good days shopping. My voucher is going to last a good while, keeping my eye out for bargains and get them when I see them. Keeping my eye out for pinks for the Pink Project. Thanks Sis!

Quilt And Shopping.

This is the start of my next Aussie Hero quilt. Poppies, camo and medical.
Bought these books for $3 each, not for colouring in initially, but to open myself up for free motion quilting. drawing and making blocks.
All about the photos. I bought these 3 albums from the op shop for my photos of my charity makes.  I could not find a single album in the regular stores. These should be fine for a couple of years.
This album is full. Vast majority is Aussie Hero makes.
In my hand bag I carry these small books, adding a book each time they fill up. At the end of this year I had 6 books in my bag. At the end of the year they go into the large album and the empty books are started all over again.

More Projects Started.

Another Pink Project started. This time I am trapuntoing it. (Shown from the back) each flower, leaf, vase and bird to give it a more 3d effect. Doing each one differently is keeping me interested in making them.
This is a project that I will be doing with my daughter that will last all year long. The 12 days of Christmas.

We will be making them like this.
A partridge in a pear tree.
Two 2 turtle doves.
Three 3 french hens.
The math and time line has been worked out and we have to make three of them a fortnight. So much fun and looking forward to doing it with my daughter. We may not see each other, we live too far away to do that, but we have our love of crafting we can encourage each other.

Just Playing Today.

Stitching and drawing practice.
Today I thought I would just play today. I downloaded some free simple colouring pages and practice drawing onto calico with erasable pen using my hands as my measuring tool. I then stitched over the lines I was happy with ironed it to get rid of the erasable lines and then painted it using acrylic paints. I will do 4 of them add a base and stuff it and it will be a table decoration or a Christmas pincushion. When the paint is dry I will go back over the flame to make it brighter.

The McGrath Foundation, The Pink Project.

This is what I have been doing today. Added the border and piping to this one, Just need to put a label on the back. I used variegated pink thread for the design and cream for the stippling fillers.
Stitched the pink on these three, painted and dried and iron set the paints. This is a good project to do when I have time to spare as there is no time limit to do them in.

Very exciting is that this year my brother and his son will be coming for Christmas all the way from England and I have to keep my time free for that. I don't want to be sewing then and so I will be free to spend every minute I can with them. I am beyond excited!

Pink Project. The Magrath Foundation.

This is what I have been doing today, Preparing fabrics and batting for the McGrath Foundation, The Pink Project. I have drawn the fronts and cut out the backs for 12, I plan on making two a month and then posting them off in batches. Taking a bit of a break right now, then back to do the next 12. All set for next years weekend projects. I have a box for them to be in marked PINK PROJECT. The down side of getting it all ready to go? The marker is pretty strong smelling.
