Re Worked Wedding Gift.

Back in 2010 when my daughter got married I made them a large floor cushion as a wedding gift.
It has over time gotten a bit of wear and tear and she has asked me to re do it as a wall hanging.
Originally it was going to be put into a frame but now I have found in my sewing room quite by chance a very large hoop. I have put it into this instead. The paper that is pinned on at the moment will have the names and dates of the event and will be done in printable fabric and sewn in place. I will also add a hanging loop to the top of the hoop. I had a lot of fun unpicking and re sewing this by hand.

Laundry Bag Tops.

I have taken apart all the Hard Yakka pants I bought from Savers. Each side yields 4 long pieces, I have taken off the buttons and zips for use later. Each 1/4 of the legs makes two 4 inch wide strips and two 2 1/4 inch strips. This makes a total of 3 bag tops or in other words, 12 bag tops per pair of pants. I have 17 pairs of these.
 Each pant leg strips.
Put into a laundry bag.
I have jeans that I will also do this too. I have enough hard wearing fabric for plenty of laundry bags this year.

This is the hat and scarf I made on Christmas day. The destination is the Guardian Pharmacy later on next year.

Savers Again!

I did not believe it was possible, but I went to Savers again, this time with my husband, He wanted to check out if they had any records left. No records but he did find a belt. They were selling the last of the things for 10 for $1. I got this lot for $2.

Last Trip To Savers.

Savers in Mill Park is closing today. They are selling everything at $1 each. I spent $30 on this lot.
Plans for this lot? Shirts, turned into quilt blocks, bias binding and the cuffs, I plan to undo the side seam, add a zip, Instant wrist purses. Buttons for the jar to be used in later projects, pockets to be inserted into bags. Wool jackets, turned into toys, pin cushions and appliques. Jeans! I am thinking many things here, bags, tops of the laundry bags, teddy bears to name but a few. and lastly but not least, these bright orange Hard Yakka pants with safety reflective strips, kids back packs, tops of laundry bags. This was a really fun trip!
Work in progress, My $1 ironing board had been dismantled, cardboard covered fabric inserted and $4 worth of dowels have been cut to size, inserted into the frame and will be wall mounted using the velcro wall strips designed for picture frames.
