Aussie Hero Quilt In Progress.

 The quilt I am making is for a female with no preferences, so I am doing another quilt as you go with the orange wattle fabric as a center strip. The strips on the side of the wattle fabric go next to the wattle on the block then the rest come from the bin. All the blocks on the back is a pale peach with white and they will have coloured joining strips and the front will have black so that it looks like stained glass. The bin on the side has all the scraps and left over batting from previous quilts. The batting will be butted up and joined with iron on interfacing to make a block sized piece. Each block will measure 10 inches then a border will be added to the sides.

These are the blocks so far today.

All the pieces have been sewn down onto the background.

This is what I have done today, ironed it all onto felt, sewed it with a matching thread on the bottom and a clear thread on the top, then cut them out. I am looking forward to the next stage.

Laundry Bags.

 Today I have made 8 laundry bags for Aussie Heroes.

2 boxes of 4 bags.

I received the pattern this afternoon and got right into it.

 This is the back of the work, showing the current piece I am working on and one that is finished. Instead of cutting the yarn for the next colour change I am just having it loosely on the back to cut after it is done to weave it in.
