Finished

Cushions are done, Just need to hand stitch the bottom opening closed.
I think they turned out OK.
My knitting needle roll finished.
I am happy with the way they turned out. Time to clean the sewing machine then lunch, then off to Spotlight for some fleecy fabric and then back to charity sewing. I am having a lovely day, i hope you are too.

More Re-Makes

More sewing stuff today. I will be turning these two T.Shirts into cushion covers.
They belong to his girlfriend and a great way to add a bit of colour to your room using clothes you do no longer wear.

I will also be making myself a knitting needle holder. This pillow sham is also new and unused but a different size. I can make a pocket that faces the other way adding black elastic so that i can hold my crochet hooks.

Needle Case

My niece has got the knitting bug now, and she dropped by yesterday and asked if w could make her a knitting needle roll. This is what i did. I had in the linen cupboard a brand new unused pillow sham. It was the wrong size for our pillows but i loved it cos it was quilted. I folded it up to the size i needed, ruled stitching lines and sewed. adding elastic to one side in loops.
Finished half an hour later, a quilted knitting roll that cost me only $5.

Chester the Cat

I have just discovered that this pattern is designed by Cheryl Ross and is called Chester the Cat and is in a magazine called Quick and Easy Crafts Number 4.
I would love it if anyone knows her or how to contact her cos i would like to make them for the K.Mart Wishing Tree. I have fallen in love with it.

Knitting and Swaps

This knitting is the second piece of knitting my niece has made. An eyelet lace blanket. She is doing very very well. I have given her a lesson on crochet this week and she is enjoying her new found love of crafts.
I am taking part in an internet swap at the moment, Look at what came in the post. A very lovely ginger and white kitty! Her paws are weighted and she can sit lovely on her bottom. She is made of polar fleece which is blanket stitch all around.
I just had to give you all a close up of her face and chest. Look at the lovely fish on the collar and such delightful stitching. I am one very lucky lady indeed!

Christmas Makes

I have been in the knitting and crochet mode for a couple of months and it has been ages since i used my sewing machine, and my thoughts have turned to Christmas. This year to ease myself back into sewing i thought i would make some gifts for girls. This lovely pyramid purse by Nicole Mallalieu http://www.nicolemdesign.com.au/tips/index.html I will be making 20 of them.

Then to go with them i will be making 20 of these beautiful headbands designed by Heather Bailey. http://www.heatherbaileydesign.com/HoorayforHeadbands.pdf
I will then be adding lip balm and a nail polish and remover and an emery board to the package. I am looking forward to getting my sewing mojo back!
