Always Busy.

 This is the 2nd batch of Christmas brooches cut out and pinned ready to iron on to wool suiting. Once they have been decorated they will be cut out and a final felt shape sewn onto the back to hide the messy stitching on the back and a pin brooch added.

 I had an idea, both cheaper and quicker to bulk up the boxes to show off the brooches, Instead of the original idea of making a stuffed pouch, recycled paper shredded does the job just as well.

 These is the first batch of brooches finished.

 I have sewed 15 trauma dolls ready to cut out and take to the cloth doll club to be stuffed by our members as they chat. I have also prepared 10 sets of 5 dolls for out members to take home and sew.

These are the Christmas Pins I have done today. Really good fun. They just need the felt back and the pin backs sewn on. They all have a bit of either silver or gold holographic thread that does not show up in the picture.

 Christmas Makes. This is the materials I am using to hand make brooches for Christmas this year, Little Thank You gifts for my friends and staff at Spotlight and Savers for their lovely service that they provide. Always smiling and friendly.

 A friend gave me some boxes the other day and so the idea was born to use them for the brooches I am making.

 A scrap of fabric with fibrefil inside the box fills the space nicely, and the brooch pin on top makes the gift look special.

A wonderful gift game my way, Look at this car, one to be passed down as an heirloom for sure, My Grand niece who is 2 will love it, and later on my Grand kids if I have them. Simply Stunning.

Shopping Bargains.

Regular readers of my blog will know that I am charity obsessed. Even when I am not making stuff I am always on the hunt for good bargains for my charity makes, so when at the Kingsbury Market yesterday I came across a card stall I had to have a look. Australian made cards on recycled materials 10 for $1.50 which works out at 15c each. I spent $18 for 120 cards.  Usually each Aussie Hero laundry bag gets a card that I make myself, but I cannot make them cheaper than this. Another way of looking at it is each box has 4 laundry bags in it so now I have enough cards for 29 boxes. I have saved time and money, love it!

Tuesday's Treasures.

Bumper Week

 This was a wonderful week. I had the best week ever, My daughter came down from Bathurst to spend some time with us this week. She made this wonderful laundry bag, I know it will be very well received.

 We did some cooking in the oven, this is just part of the dish, potatoes with cheese and leeks. I forgot to photograph the lovely fish parcels.

where my daughter drove us in Melody's car, a wonderful thing to do and these sheets were amongst the bargains I bought. Perfect for the laundry bag linings. (the sheets are white, my shadow is making them look yellow).

 We went to a couple of patch work shops too and I bought this delightful cat pin cushion and Jodies birds. The cross stitch kit was from an op shop and is for the Crafternoon Stash.

I have been busy making the cords for the laundry bags too. Making up sets of 4 as I go along. I have the ball in a hat box threaded through a hole and it keeps the yarn from rolling all over the place as I use it.
It was my Husbands Birthday on Sunday and my niece had a barbeque party with all of the friends and family around to celebrate. A wonderful week.
