School Play Props and Things

Today i have started on the Woodland Fairy wings. Drawn out my sketch, I wanted my wings to look leaf like. The black outline is the heavy weight copper wire, and the brown is the lighter wire veins. The copper wire used is found recycled electrical wire from a local skip.
Once the wires have been stripped i then glued them together and held it whilst it is drying with paper paint tape. The wings will be covered with fine sheer fabric after. The tape holding the wires together will be taken off.

The cardboard reinforcements and button rivets have been added as well as the rope carry handles and the lid chain.
Key hole detail added too.
It needs a few finishing details before it gets painted.
This has been made out of cardboard boxes taped together and buttons, hot glued on and some plastic washing line rope, All it needs now is painting and the finishing of the details. It all looks a little yellow cos i took the pictures last night and the lighting is not so good.

I have added bands of cardboard along the sides to give it a stronger look and buttons to look like rivets and currently adding strips of leather to finish the edges.
I got a belt from Savers and dismantled it for the strips of leather look bands.
This is the bow tie for one of the characters in the play.

This is the lid being assembled.

The lid is on, the newspaper on the chest is going to be covered with brown wrapping paper which will be sprayed gold. This will resemble gold treasure.
I will then hot glue real treasure on top and it will not be heavy.
I still have a lot to do, I will be adding chains to the lid and base, I will be adding cardboard reinforcements on the sides and i have buttons that will look like studs on them too. I will be reinforcing the sides where i will be adding rope handles to carry it. then it will be painted too.

Skull and Crossbones are going to be appliqued onto T.Shirts Felt is being used. 7 Tea shirts in total.
This is one finished. All the T.Shirts are different. but they have the same applique on them and follow a colour theme.

50 corns all finished. Now i will be appliqueing some skull and crossbones to T.Shirts. and making a bow tie.

This is what i was working on last night. The Woodland Fairy Tiara.
The headband is covered with cream silk, then i beaded it. The inside will be lined with white/cream felt once i have the clear back combs put in.
The beads are from my stash, and the purls and jewels are from the necklaces i bought for the pirate treasure. The copper wire is stripped electrical wire.
