bodies

This is the bodies all stuffed and ready to assemble, finished stuffing them last night at midnight.
I just tipped it out and Meggy was there as always interested in what i am doing. She is my little shadow.
What the picture cannot show is the depth of the pile. There is a lot there. Anyone new to this blog i have been given permission by the designer to use her pattern in this way. Her name is Jodie and her blog is WONDERFUL. do check it out.

heads

This is also what i have been doing. Drawing and cutting out heads to go with the hair.
Pencil markings to show where the embroidery is going to go.

Hair

This is what i have been doing today.
busy cutting out iron on interfacing to use for hair for the K Mart Christmas Tree Dolls. They are all cut out ready to iron on the fabric.
The fabric i have used is second hand coat fabrics. I was especially sad for just a moment to use the yellow cos i would have liked to wear it. I should have taken a picture of it before i cut it up. It was a lovely 3/4 length swing coat.
The red and brown is felt from the magic day at Zart Art Sale with my son's girlfriend.
The next job is to iron them on, cut them out and sew them to the heads. I will them turn out the heads and stuff them.
Tomorrow assemble the dolls.
The task after that is the dresses.

Christmas Tree Dolls

This is the dolls bodies and pieces i have made since Monday. Some are sewn and stuffed, some are sewn and some are drawn out ready to be sewn.
A closer look.

Since Monday i have been busy at the sewing table drawing, cutting, sewing and in the evenings stuffing.
I finished this lot at 5am this morning, and got up at 8am to do some more. At midday I took a break for lunch.
I have so very much missed not blogging, family, illness and other obligations have come in the way of things, but I fingers crossed I am back and hope to catch up. Still optimistic that i can reach and my goal of 100 dolls for charity and their pictures posted on December 1st.
Some of you ladies might recognize the fabrics i have been given though out the year once they are done.

Tilli

Tilli playing in newspaper. One of her favourite games

Wedding Ideas

These are the glasses we have so far for the wedding.
bought them on Ebay.

These are the latest plates.
All bought by 3 friends of mine, How lovely of them.
What a lovely thing for them to do. That makes another 10 plates all with silver rims to add to the collection.
Only another 20 to go...
Very cute.

Bra Fitting

I have been thinking a while about posting what i am about to say mainly because it is so personal, but then i realised that it has changed my life and could possibly help others out there too. Quite a few years ago now i went to get myself measured for a bra and was told by the staff that i was "One of those people" and "They did not make bras for my shape". this hurt me, and i did not bother about getting one.
Well my son Jonno told me that this was simply not true, his girlfriend gets fitted every now and then and she says her best fitting bras are the ones she gets measured for.
So i took the plunge so to speak and went for a fitting.
brasnthings in Greensborough. Well this lady measured me whilst wearing the bra i was wearing, got me the size it measured up with and it was not right, she took her time and gave me another size and well, believe me when i put it on i felt for the first time in my life that i was not a freak!! i was for the first time in my life wearing the in correct size. It also gave me back my waist!! my breasts feel comfortable in a bra and my clothes look better too! I am happy to say that i am a 14F and i had no idea that this size existed. I was so happy that i cried at the check out and told her about what happened to me previously and she told me that she was so sad for me that it should not have happened. So my advice to you ladies, if someone tells you something bad like that don't take it, report them, they should not be in their job. There is a bra (or bras)!! out there for you,
