Baby Crochet Stuff.

 While I have been waiting for the Aussie Hero stuff to arrive in the post for my next quilt I have been busy making baby stuff. A blanket and a soft toy blankie.

Kitty Lap Quilts.

Today I made a couple of lap quilts for my daughter, Her two cats love being on a lap on a blanket and getting brushed. This is a summer solution. Cotton on one side, this is for the lap side down, the top, soft fluffy top for the cat to sit on. Red emoji on one.

 White on the other. Looks like I will be making some for my cats too, Tilli loves it!

Posted And Shopping.

 Single bed size quilt is now winging its way to England, Tilli is doing a great job of showing off the size.

Wings Cake in a Cup is on special at   Woolworths  this week for two flavours, Double Chocolate and Salted Caramel and Choc Chip $2.50 half price. The use by date is December 2017 and April 2018.  I did a test for my Aussie Hero packages, I folded up a paper cup, unfolded it and made a cake in the microwave, As you can see here it worked just fine. The lovely thing about this is that the foil packets have the instructions on it. Just a tip, the White Wings Triple choc brownies do not have the instructions on the foil packets. The paper cups I bought from Spotlight for 95c for 16 cups, and the forks for $2 for 100.

Aussie Hero Shopping.

 I am always on the lookout for things I can get to add to the packages for Aussie Heroes stuff. I needed something that said Aussie to me and on ebay I came across some air fresheners. He was selling them in sets of 25 or 50 but had also listed that he could do bulk amounts also. He did have 200 lemon scented. I wrote and asked if he could do the eucalyptus for the same price as the lemon, I told him what I wanted to do and he was very happy to do it. He said he would put in some extras as it is a good cause.

He was very generous indeed, He gave me an extra pack of 50. Thank you so very very much. All the quilts and laundry bags will have a couple of these in each of them.

Kits Made.

60 bauble kits made. Now to clean up my sewing room and do some sewing.

Crochet and Christmas.

 This is what I bought at Savers the other day. I forgot to take the picture before opening them but i bought 5 packets of pens. so 50 pens for $10. These will be gifts for the ladies at the Christmas in July party. The erasers are going into my gift drawer to be part of the K Mart Wishing Tree gift packs. I am always on the look out for bargains.

This is the crochet knee rug in progress. I am making it up in strips and sewing them together as I go. It makes it easier to manage especially when you have a cat on your lap as you work.

My First Quilt

 This is my first ever quilt. Made for a single bed for my Grand Niece.

Christmas Pins

Every year I make Christmas Pins to give away to the lovely ladies at our Christmas Party and as a thank you to the staff of Spotlight and Savers for their great service and to show my appreciation. This year I have designed a Christmas Pudding Pin. I am planning on making 50.

1. I used a lid of a jam jar for the back and front of the pudding in brown felt. Cut out 2 pieces.

2. Draw the same shape out again and this time to make the top just make a way line and cut it off. You need 1 piece for the front in white felt. Blanket stitch this to one of the brown felt pieces.

3. This is a smaller cardboard disk that will be between the stuffing in the front and the felt back piece to make it flat on the back for the pin to be sewn on.

4. Holly leaves. Cut 2 on green felt. Stitch a line up the centre 3/4s of the way to give it dimension.

5. Stuffing for the front of the pudding to give it a pleasing shape.

6. 2 buttons for berries.

7. Place the back and the front of the pudding together sandwiching the stuffing and smaller cardboard disk in between and blanket stitch the pieces together all the way around using thread to match the felt used.

8. Pin the holly in place and sew them on at the same time as the berry buttons.

9. Lastly, sew the brooch pin to the back.

10. They would also make great gift tags or Christmas tree decorations. I hope this inspires you to make your own.

School Play Props and Things

Yesterday they had at the school a Cast and Crew party. It was just wonderful, All the kids were brilliant and they presented me with this lovely lot of gifts. A simply stunning glass and mirrored large candle holder and vanilla scented candle in a lovely hat box and a laminated certificate and some hand made cards. Overwhelming!
