Next Aussie Hero Quilt Started.

First block started. North Queensland Cowboys (NRL) is this request. Not sure if the background show up but I have made a star shape out of cardboard and put double sided tape on the back of it and randomly sewed them on. Then in between  have used a random stipple. The sashings and the binding will be yellow.

Donations From Geelong.

 This is the quilt I am working on today. Put on hold for the moment because,

 When the lovely Michelle from Geelong popped in with donations she has collected through her talks on Aussie Heroes Quilts and laundry bags. Lots of lovely things here, Large pieces, fat 1/4s and small scraps, T Towels and crossword books,

As well as a Spotlight gift voucher and cash (JM knows how much they are).
A huge thanks for the donations from Geelong Probus and Geelong Trefoil (Senior Girl Guides).
I will be spending the time ironing and sorting them out into colour and themes. The small scraps will be sewn together and turned into blocks for the back of the quilt as you go quilts.

Next Aussie Hero Quilt.

My next Aussie Hero quilt is for Peppa Pig featuring George. The in between blocks will be green, yellow and red blocks. I am using colouring pages to work from.

This is a wall hanging I have made for my daughter. Helen Godden pattern Birds and Australian flowers. A couple of my own blocks thrown in.

Invictus Games Quilt And Laundry Bags.

 Now that the pictures are up on the Aussie Heroes Quilts and laundry Bag page I can show you what I have made for the Invictus Games.

 My quilt I have made shows the Kokoda Track which is what my recipient has said is a highlight of his achievements with his prosthetic leg. I wish him all the best in the games and in the future. Such an inspiration.

Laundry Bags And Wall Hanging.

 This week I made 10 random laundry bags.

Continuing with the wall hanging. 1 more block to make then ready to assemble. I have added two tabby cats to represent my daughters cats.

Plans Change.

Having chatted with my daughter this is the new layout. The pink squares are blocks left to do and the two empty spaces will be cats.

Present Project.

This is my continuing project for my daughter. Felt squares both wool felt and acrylic felt to tie in with the real wool and acrylic yarn in the pictures. I have 1 more square to do then assemble in rows with black sashing. and binding.

The quilt is finished now to make a bag to go with it.

The Camo fabric arrived today and to make the most of it I have turned them into 4 patches and added blue around them. It will have red sashings and a green binding.

Christmas Gift Continued.

These are the blocks I have done so far on my daughters Christmas present. It will be a wall hanging.

Christmas Present For My Daughter.

 I have finally started on my Christmas present for my daughter. Her request was for a wall hanging, stained glass design and I chose Helen Goddens' Native Birds and Flowers pattern. Perfect!

My daughter loves yarn, and she has made meany of her own home decor elements so to combine yarn into the wall hanging will compliment her style with my love of using the sewing machine.

 I am also going to use the following books as inspiration to adding other elements in the design as well as colouring books.

 Over the years I have collected from Op shops tapestry yarns and these will be my colours.
