This request quilt is for The Mario Brothers.this is all 2 1/2 inch squares. I could not find the interfacing that has the grid on it but I did find this black and white fabric in Spotlight that is 2 1/2 squares. This is a technique I have been wanting to do for a while now, perfect for this quilt.
I bought the pattern on Craftsy for 99c, and adapted it to be the right size for the quilt.

All the peachy pink blocks are done. This is the Koala block I will be using. I bought this pattern and it is originally a paper pieced pattern. I was doing fine until i got to the eyes, so I am changing it. I will be using it as an applique instead.

This quilt will have an embroidered patch in the centre. Favourite colours are blue and purple,  loves the beach, sunsets/sunrise, hiking, mountains, forests, volleyball and football. Sashings will be grey.

 This year I had decided I would enter the challenges at our cloth doll club. Friday morning, I realized that a challenge doll was due the next day! The challenge was Something beginning with G. So a simple doll was born, Meet Garden Gnome.

A Huge Thank You.

I had a message from the Calandar Group letting me know that they had 1 more calendar, that as it was for charity they were going to let me have it for free, to pick it up this week. I went there today to do just that and instead of 1 they gave me 11. How lovely is that! Thank you so much.

 All quilted, just need to trim and add the binding. The backing fabric is from my sister and the pink blocks from the donated fabrics from my friend.

Back Into Sewing.

I have been away from my sewing for a few days with a very good reason. My sister is in Australia for work and had a couple of free days to visit me! We have been out and about, I quick overnight visit to Sydney and my daughter and her husband came down from their place too and we stayed in a Hotel. Dinner with my sister who had not seen my daughter since she was a little girl. A wonderful time with so many wonderful memories.
