School Play Props and Things

On the dress I have sewn many many leaves, and the salvage edge of the wing fabric to the bodice to tie the two together. Side view.
Back View.
Front View. The leaves have been sewn 2 thirds of the way down each leaf, this enables movement. Three different fabrics have been used, both the back and front of each fabric have been used to create more colour.

School Play Props and Things

This is what i have been working on today. The back brace is echoing the tiara.
This is the wings on the dress. The lower part of the wings have no adornment at the moment, the skirt will be leaves and i will see that it needs after i have finished the dress. The top of the winds have little apples on them. There are a few sparkly adornments to catch the light and the wired beads bounce with movement. All the wings can be bent to whatever is needed.

School Play Props and Things

The basic framework of the wings are finished, Now i am adding the embellishments. This will echo the tiara in colour, texture and beadwork.

The leaf wings can be bent to whatever shape is pleasing.
What also is shown in this shot is a dress bought from Savers, and will be adorned with leaves. It started white until i dyed it apple green, It looks a little blue in this shot.

School Play Props and Things

All dry and treasure added.
Front of Chest.
Inside View.

Back View. The beauty of this is that it is very light and easy to carry. I do however have optional weights to add to the bottom if needed.

School Play Props and Things

This is one segment of the wings being done. I have chosen a green rose net fabric, this has been glued onto one side.
I have then flipped it over and covered the other side.

Finished segment of wing. The rose pattern has disappeared and hopefully it looks like foliage.

School Play Props and Things

The wing frame has been assembled and is sturdy on it's own, I have spray painted it brown to represent branches, The fabric i will be using will enable the structure to show through. It is outside drying.
This is the treasure chest with a single spray of paint all over. I will be doing touch ups by hand using poster paints where needed. It was Great fun!
The paper has been sprayed gold and the treasures will be hot glued onto it afterwards.

The chest from the back. I found the easiest way to get the paint off my hands after was to use coarse salt and water and finished off by plenty of hand cream.
