Quilt Restarted And Birthday Flowers.

 This is how I was going to do the quilt originally, but last night I had a re think. I love the colours but not the straight lines.

 All the colours have been put into a bag.

I am now cutting them up smaller and placing them in random scraps like the litter of the earth.

Today is my birthday and my lovely sister from England has sent me some flowers.

How lovely is this! My favourite colours, How blessed am I. Thanks Sis!

Aussie Hero Quilt Started.

This one has several requests in it and one of them is autumn colours. Most of the blocks will be scrappy, using this middle fabric as the starting point. Most of the fabrics used will be donated fabrics so see if you can spot what you gave me.

This is one of the costumes I was helping my son with last week. I made his cape for this one.

Made a start on number 14. I will couch the shapes in with the colours I have painted then with.
I gave one to a door knocker yesterday to give to his friend who is currently in treatment. He was door knocking for a different cause, unable to help him in his one, my life is pretty full and cannot add another to my plate. 

Aussie Hero Laundry Bag.

Time poor this week, so I just chose a laundry bag for this week. Maroon, white, Rugby League, State of Origin QLD was this request. Not having a lot of white fabric, I like to keep it for the T shirt transfers, I found some white bias tape (Savers), and hemming tape (Savers again), made my own stripes on the fabric and stitched it down using a wide zig zag.
