My Sewing Room

Today I want to share with you my favorite room in the house, My sewing/Craft room. It really did not cost a lot to kit it out, The pram was bought on Ebay for my Grand Niece, but she did not need it, but Tilli Loves it and it is now her bed. It gives me storage underneath and the light is not blocked from the window.
This is the doorway view of my room. The table was from Savers in Greensborough, the book case from Savers Mill Park, Sewing machine and sewing table was from Aldi, the swivel chair is many years old now, used to belong to one of the kids when they lived at home for their homework.
The chest of drawers Ebay, and the latest purchase is the seat/steps from Savers Mill Park, very handy to get to the top shelf in the built in robe.
All the plastic crates and tins are labeled
Until now, when I have my own space I would revel in the chaos, but now it all has a place to go I love putting things away when I have finished.
All the jars on the book shelf are from the pantry and re used, the plastic drawers are from Savers in Mill Park.
This is what I am working on this afternoon, Cloth book panels. I bought 5 of them from Spotlight in December last year, $1 per panel. They will be sewn up and put under the K.Mart Wishing Tree this year.
I hope you enjoyed looking round my sewing room, I enjoyed showing to you.

Velcro and Quilting.

I have done one of these pairs so far, just as a test to see if it could be done. They liked my work and so I am replacing the Velcro on these arm pads for my sons' Dojo, 20 pairs to go. This is all hand stitching as it is way to thick for the machine.
A request from my niece for a single bed quilt for her daughter, she loved the ones I have made for the charities and would love a quilt for her daughter.

Cot quilts

I have been busy for the last couple of days cutting out 6 inch squares and 2 inch strips for the K.Mart Wishing Tree baby quilts. I had been given some fabric last Saturday, some large pieces and some off cuts and made the most of all the bits.
I then assemble them into blocks like this.
Final quilt top.
I plan on making quite a few of these.

K.Mart Wishing Tree Gifts

This is the start of many crib quilts I am making to go under the K Mart Wishing Tree this year. This quilt top was made using scraps I had been given that was not suitable for the Aussie Hero quilts. as well as fabric from my stash. I like to make in groups so I am making all the quilt tops first then finishing them off.
This is the start of baby sets both knitted and crochet. Like last year they will be a layette set, a toy and this year instead of a blanket it will be a quilt.  The wrapped bundle is 20 sets of dolls clothing cut out ready to sew. I plan on making dolls and bears too this year.
